WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
Cortina: Let's Start with the Stories of Cadore
We’ll meet this afternoon in Pieve di Cadore, check into the hotel, and get to know the group. Then we head to Cortina d’Ampezzo to visit the Ethnographic Museum of the Regole: our first encounter with mountain traditions, crafts, and daily life, before strolling through the town’s streets. We then return to the hotel for our first dinner together.
Second day
The Three Peaks of Lavaredo: Winter Ahead
Today, we’re really getting serious with our hiking boots. We’re heading to the Lake Antorno and from there we’ll climb toward the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, one of the Dolomites’ most iconic landmarks. Depending on the conditions, we’ll hike on snowshoes or in hiking boots and return by sled. In the afternoon, we’ll stop in San Vito di Cadore, where we’ll enjoy a tasting of goat products from a local farm.
Third day
Monte Piana: One Last Glimpse of the Dolomites
On our last morning, we won’t miss out on the mountains. From Lake Antorno, we head up toward Monte Piana, following winter trails and taking in panoramic views of the Dolomites. Today, too, we’ll choose between hiking and snowshoeing depending on the conditions, but for the descent, we’ll definitely change things up: we’ll head back down on sleds. In the afternoon, we return to Pieve di Cadore and say our goodbyes, after making the most of our final day.
From the south, take the A27 Venice–Belluno highway to Pian di Vedoia, then the SS51 Alemagna highway toward Cadore. From the north, take the A22 Brenner highway, exit at Bressanone, then continue toward Dobbiaco and Cortina along the SS49 and SS51 to Pieve di Cadore.
The nearest train station is Calalzo di Cadore, just a few kilometers from Pieve. From the station, you can take a Dolomiti Bus; Line 36 connects Calalzo FS with Pieve di Cadore. Schedules and frequencies may vary, so we recommend always checking for the most up-to-date information.
