Let's Go to Spain: Paella, Nature, and Biking in Valencia

First day

Welcome to Valencia
Arrival in Valencia in the afternoon and check-in at the hotel, located in the heart of the city. After checking in, meet with the Italian guide who lives in Valencia who will accompany us on this adventure. During the initial briefing, we’ll find out in detail what awaits us over the next few days of this outdoor vacation in Valencia: guided bike tours to explore the historic city, Calatrava’s works in the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, the golden beaches, and the fragrant Turia Gardens.
To start getting a feel for theValencian atmosphere, we’ll have dinner at a traditional Spanish restaurant, savoring local specialties such as Valencian paella. It will be the perfect start to an experience filled with good company, culture, and unique places.

Second day

In the heart of Valencia
In the morning, we’ll take a guided walking tour of historic center of Valencia. We’ll visit the magnificent Valencia Cathedral and its bell tower, known as the Miguelete, where at the very top of the tower hangs the bell called Miguel, named after the Archangel Saint Michael, who was tasked with protecting the city from evil. We’ll head into the Plaza Redondaand continue on to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, home to City Hall. We arrive at the ancient and majestic Mercat Central and the Lonja de la Seda, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. In the afternoon, we’ll have plenty of time to wander freely among the market stalls to try some traditional turrón and take group selfies under the wonderful Christmas lights that adorn the city center.

Third day

Exploring the Albufera by Bike and Boat
A day trip to explore the Albufera Natural Lagoon, near the city of Valencia. We’ll pass through the historic center and, thanks to the Turia Gardens—the city’s true green lung— we’ll cycle easily all the way to the Albufera. Cycling along the strip of land between the salty waters of the sea and the fresh waters of the lagoon will be a truly thrilling experience! We’ll reach the small village of El Palmar for anunusual experience for many: a traditional boat will be waiting for us for a relaxing outing amidst the local natural scenery, culminating in an excellent paella, right where the traditional recipe originated. A lunch by the sea, all together, will be the perfect way to recharge before heading back to the city.

Fourth day

Between History and the Future: A City Bike Tour
Today we’re going on the Valencia city tour. A guided bike ride through the streets of historic center of Valencia. We’ll take in the famous squares: Plaza de la Virgen, Plaza de la Reina, and Plaza de l’Ayuntamiento, all the way to the magnificent Cathedral and the Serranos Towers, which often feature the city’s largest light displays. Valencia is steeped in history but also modern: we’ll cycle toward the futuristic architectural complex of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, and the wonderful Turia Gardens. If you’ve never seen it, we recommend booking a tour of the Science Museum or the Oceanogràfic. Alternatively, take advantage of the large Christmas market and immerse yourself in the artisanal stalls and food trucks. In the evening, we’ll meet up for dinner together at a traditional Spanish restaurant.

Fifth day

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to beautiful Valencia. During this bike vacation , we strolled through its historic center, enchanted by the majestic Valencia Cathedral and the Lonja de la Seda. We breathed in the authentic energy of the Valencia Central Market, the beating heart of the city. On our bikes, we rode through the lush green Turia Parkuntil we reached the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, a masterpiece of modern architecture. And of course, we tasted the true flavor of Valencian culinary tradition, with an unforgettable paella born right here. Valencia bids us farewell with sunshine and smiles.
