WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
Our trip begins at the airport in Oviedo, the capital of Asturias, from where a private transfer will take us to the guesthouse. We’ll drop off our luggage and then head straight out to explore Cudillero, a charming fishing village on the Atlantic coast. Cudillero is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, and we’ll look for a traditional restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, it’s time to relax: we can find a spot on the beach at Cabo Vidio and stay there to enjoy the sunset with a cerveza in hand! We return to the guesthouse with a view of the Atlantic Ocean! This region is famous for its various outdoor activities: from bike rides to hiking trails to surfing. We’ll enjoya welcome aperitif with our guides for the coming days: unique experiences in Asturias await us!
Second day
The Sierra del Viento
After breakfast with an ocean view, we set off on our first bike tour in Asturias —a route that winds through the first hills along the coast, near the guesthouse. With our local guide, we ride along forest trails through pine forests and pastures, reaching an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters. Our circular e-bike route will also take us to the Sierra del Viento wind farm, where the imposing wind turbines tower high above the landscape. We’ll visit the picturesque Playa del Silencio to relax a bit, and then head back to the guesthouse: it’s time for a yoga session overlooking the ocean, to stretch our muscles and unwind properly, followed by dinner.
Third day
The Senda Verde
Today we have a more leisurely excursion ahead of us: a leisurely bike ride along the Senda del Oso and the Fuso de la Reina. This route follows a greenway, a prime example of the conversion of an old mining railway line into a bike path that winds through tunnels and rock-cut passages. Amidst hazelnut, birch, and holm oak trees, we continue our cycling vacation in Spain, following the river flowing alongside us, until we enter the Senda del Oso, a nature reserve where we can spot Asturian bears! Our cycling route in Asturias ends in Oviedo, the capital of the Principality of Asturias and the starting point of the Primitive Way of St. James, which we’ll have the chance to visit.
Fourth day
The West Coast
Today we’re getting ready for another group bike tour to explore the west coast of Asturias! We’ll head toward Galicia and ride along a very picturesque coastal route, with the ups and downs typical of the area, passing through plateaus, cliffs, and coves. We’ll pass through several tourist towns, quaint little harbors, and sections of the Northern Way of St. James, one of the most historic routes of the famous pilgrimage. We’ll have lunch along the way, and once our e-bike excursion is over, we’ll return to the guesthouse by train. Anyone up for another yoga session to stretch out those muscles a bit after the
Tonight, a true traditional Asturian dinner awaits us at a traditional cider house!
Fifth day
Our final morning in Asturias: as our vacation drew to a close, we had the chance to explore an area far removed from mass tourism and brimming with distinctive charm. This region, where the green of the forests meets the deep blue of the ocean, is a true paradise on earth for those seeking an outdoor vacation in Spain—rich in experiences that allow you to slowly discover the Oviedo region and its cultural and natural treasures. This organized vacation in Spain introduced us to lush parks, cliffs plunging into the sea, crashing waves, and dense forests—all of which combine to make this destination unique, stunning yet still relatively unknown!
