WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
Arrival in Cogne and check-in at the hotel, the starting point for our trekking holiday in the Aosta Valley. We are in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park, an ideal area for guided trekking and walking experiences in the Alps. Weather permitting, we will take a walk between the town center and the Prati di Sant'Orso, among pastures, streams, and the first views of the peaks. A perfect start to get into the rhythm of the week.
Second day
Vallone del Grauson
First excursion of the week in the picturesque Vallone del Grauson, one of the quietest and least frequented corners of the Alps. This wide and bright environment, with its gentle slopes and almost timeless appearance, offers a deep sense of calm and contemplation. Amidst pastures, botanical rarities, and open views of snow-capped peaks, you walk immersed in silence, enjoying a slow and rejuvenating experience. Return to the valley in the afternoon and enjoy dinner together, getting to know the group and discussing what you have seen.
Third day
Loie Lake Loop
Today we explore another spectacular area:the Loie Lake Loop (2,346 m), a guided trek in the Aosta Valley that is ideal for starting a walking holiday in the Alps. The circular route runs through the Gran Paradiso National Park and crosses a variety of landscapes: high-altitude pastures, green valleys, woods, and streams. Lake Loie, nestled among the rocks, offers spectacular views and a wide panorama of Mont Blanc, making this one of the most fascinating hikes in the area.
Fourth day
Vittorio Sella Refuge
One of the most iconic excursions in the Gran Paradiso National Park, with an ascent to the Vittorio Sella Refuge (2,588 m), overlooking the spectacular Valnontey. The route follows the historic trail created by Vittorio Emanuele II and climbs up the valley of the Grand Lauson stream, among mountain pastures, meadows, and alpine fauna. If you have extra energy, you can continue along the Sentiero dell'Herbetet, a panoramic high-altitude traverse to the picturesque farmhouses of the same name.
Fifth day
From Lillaz to the Valeille valley
From the village of Lillaz (1,670 m), a fascinating circular hike leads into the wild Valeille valley, among pastures, streams, and sweeping views of the glacier head. The route passes through ideal environments for observing alpine wildlife, with possible sightings of chamois, ibex, and birds of prey. The last, steeper section leads toAlpe Arolla (2,300 m), a panoramic viewpoint of great tranquility and beauty.
Sixth day
Arpisson Valley
Final excursion to discover the Arpisson Valley, a secluded and fascinating environment, ideal for those who love uncrowded places.
