WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
Welcome to Val Campelle! This small valley in Trentino is home to one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the region, straddling the border with Veneto: the Lagorai. Its name suggests what the common thread of our entire week of trekking: this area is rich in lakes of varying sizes and depths, but all of them beautiful, reflecting the peaks of these mountains. In the evening, we meet up with our guide and the rest of the group for a briefing on the program and then for a delicious dinner. Over the next few days, we can look forward to the best excursions in the Lagorai: trek to Cima Socede to warm up our muscles, the excursion that combines Lake Montalon, Lake Stellune , and the Lakes of Buse Basse , followed by a splendid excursion to Lake Nassere in Val d'Inferno. On the last day, it's the turn of His Majesty Cima d'Asta, a splendid massif that also boasts a beautiful lake!
Second day
The view from Cima Socede and Malga Conseria
Theguided hike to Cima Socede and the Malga Conseria Refuge is the ideal choice to start our week of group trekking in the Lagorai. The medium-level route winds through green mountain pastures and spectacular rhododendron blooms that characterize this area rich in streams. Starting from Ponte Conseria, we will walk together through the Passo 5 Croci until we reach the panoramic Cima Socede, a natural balcony offering unparalleled views of Cima d'Asta and the Dolomites, from Piz Boé to Marmolada. Along the summit, you will have the opportunity to explore the trenches of the Great War before descending towards the picturesque Laghetti di Lasteati, where the peaks are reflected in the crystal-clear water. We end our excursion on a high note with a stop at the Malga Conseria Refuge, the perfect place to relax in good company and enjoy local flavors after a rewarding walk.
Third day
Tour of the lakes: Lake Montalon, Lake Stellune, Lakes of Rocco
This splendid guided excursion in the heart of Lagorai is one of the most unmissable excursions in the area, covering some of the wildest landscapes in Trentino. Although the route is technically easy, its length and 1,000-meter elevation gain require a steady pace: we will set off early in the morning to enjoy the natural light and spread the effort throughout the day, allowing ourselves plenty of stops and refreshing breaks. The beauty of these places makes up for everything: four magnificent alpine lakes await us, placidly nestled among the mountain peaks. First, we will encounter Lake Montalon, nestled in a solitary and silent basin, followed by the majestic Lake Stellune, one of the largest and most iconic in the entire chain. We will then continue towards the two enchanting Laghetti delle Buse Basse (also known as Laghi di Rocco), small alpine jewels located in a rock amphitheater near Forcella Valsorda, perfect for a picnic lunch with a view.
Fourth day
Free day
Today is a free day: let the exploration begin! We recommend a visit to Lake Levico, the second largest lake in Valsugana, to stay on the lake theme of your vacation. From there, you can go on various walks, interspersed with a few refreshing swims and a couple of hours of relaxation on its beaches. Fancy a spa? Levico has those too! We can spend this day in pure relaxation, recharging our batteries for the upcoming excursions.
If, on the other hand, we prefer to stay active and fit, Val Campelle and the nearby Val di Fiemme are full of beautiful trails: we can ask our guide for advice on some nice, easy hikes in the area.
Fifth day
Nassere Lakes and Val d'Inferno
Starting directly on foot from the hotel, we will warm up our muscles along the narrow road that leads to Malga Cenon di Sopra, before entering a fragrant forest that will suddenly reveal the wonderful Conca di Caldenave. Here, the stream meanders lazily through the high-altitude meadows, creating an enchanting landscape, perfect for a short, refreshing break at the Caldenave Refuge before continuing the climb. In about an hour, we will reach the Lakes of Val d'Inferno, small wild pools of water set in the granite, and then continue along the picturesque "Sentiero dei Nomadi." We will walk almost suspended on a soft carpet of flowering rhododendrons until we reach the shores of Lake Nàssere, an alpine jewel at 2064 meters that offers a sense of absolute peace. The return will be through a descent into the woods, where the hairpin bends will allow us to lose altitude safely, bringing us directly back to base after a day full of emotions and unforgettable views.
Sixth day
Cima d'Asta, its lake, and the Brentari mountain refuge
Today it is the turn of the Cima d'Astamassif, an unmissable experience for those who love high-altitude landscapes with an alpine character. After traveling by car to Malga Sorgazza, we will begin our walk along a forest road that will take us to the foot of the cableway; from here, the trail becomes more challenging and fascinating, climbing up the characteristic and spectacular granite slabs shaped by time. Step by step, our guide will lead us to the shores of Lake Cima d'Asta, one of the deepest and most evocative lakes in the chain, located right at the foot of the main peak. We will then reach the Brentari Refuge, where we can recharge our batteries with a traditional lunch in front of a view that spans the entire Alpine arc. After enjoying the majesty of this "granite balcony," we will return along the same route, sharing with the group the thrill of having touched the most iconic point of the Lagorai chain.
Seventh day
After breakfast, we say goodbye and agree to meet up again for our next vacation together.
Val Campelle cannot be reached by public transport, so we recommend traveling to the hotel by car. Most excursions will start on foot from the hotel, but for one excursion it will be necessary to organize carpooling, sharing the costs.
For those who are unable to arrive by car, it is possible to take public transportation to Strigno (approximately 12 km from the hotel) and then arrange with other participants in the group for a ride to the destination.
