Notes
Travel times are purely indicative and depend on the pace of the group.
Important
As with any active trip, the itinerary is subject to change—including the order of activities or stops—depending on weather conditions, road conditions, any temporary closures or restrictions at sites, locations, or areas to be visited, as well as the guide’s judgment, who will always act in the best interests of the group and the safety of the participants. The activity will take place even in case of bad weather, except in situations involving weather alerts or conditions that could compromise safety; we therefore recommend bringing appropriate gear for possible precipitation and temperature changes.
Cars

Take the A22 to Brenner, follow signs for Innsbruck, then take the A12/A13 motorway towards Salzburg. A toll sticker is required for the motorway from Innsbruck South. Take the Zillertal exit and continue on the B169 state road to Mayrhofen, then follow signs for Hintertux, about 50 km. From Innsbruck, it is about an hour's drive. To use Austrian motorways and expressways, all vehicles up to 3.5 tons in weight must be equipped with a prepaid sticker, known as a "vignette." Austrian vignettes can be purchased at gas stations near the Brenner motorway border or at tobacco shops for €9.60 for 10 days of validity. It must be validated at the point of sale. It must be affixed to the windshield of the vehicle in a clearly visible position so that it can be easily checked from the outside before entering a section of highway where it is mandatory. The lower part of the sticker (tab) must not be affixed, but kept carefully. The fine for using Austrian motorways and expressways with a vehicle without a vignette ranges from €120 to €3,000.
