WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
The journey to theAsiago Plateau begins in the late afternoon, with a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at thehotel in Gallio. Here we will meet the guide who will explain the program, providing details about the excursions and the places we will visit, including nature, history, and local traditions. This is the perfect time to break the ice with our fellow travelers, exchanging curiosities and expectations about this adventure. After the briefing, we will have dinner together, where we will savor the flavors of the Plateau. An ideal evening to begin immersing ourselves in the atmosphere of the Plateau, one of the most popular destinations for slow and sustainable tourism in 2025.
Second day
Discovering the Valley of the Mills
Let's set off on this wonderful mountain vacation in Veneto! Today's excursion takes us to the Valley of the Mills in Gallio, a trail that winds along a stream flowing from one of the very few surface springs on the plateau. Immersed in a cool and lush environment, theexcursion to the Valle dei Mulini is the perfect start to discovering this area: following the trail that descends from Gallio, you find yourself in a veritable open-air museum, where nature intertwines with the remains of ancient mills and tanneries from the 18th century. We will stop along the way for lunch in a mountain hut with local cheeses and typical products. Our expert guide will take us along a simple and intriguing route, walking among small waterfalls, mosses, and the fascinating evidence of the ancient industriousness of the Seven Municipalities.
Third day
Madonna del Buso Canyon
Today, another walk on the Asiago Plateau, which is easy and suitable for everyone. We will drive to the Madonna del Buso Sanctuary, a small isolated church hidden in nature, which we reach by walking along the bottom of a canyon: narrow and spectacular gorges, carved out by the powerful Frenzela stream. The trail we will follow is a fascinating itinerary that combines the geological depth of a real alpine canyon with the silent peace of a place of faith, offering a short but intense experience of unspoiled nature and ancient spirituality.
On our return, we stop for a well-deserved traditional aperitif in the center of Gallio: cheers!
Fourth day
The center of Asiago and a mysterious night
Morning walk in the heart of Asiago. We can go shopping, sip an aperitif, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the center; followed by a visit to the First World War Museum in Canove. Lunch is at the hotel, followed by a relaxing afternoon, because a magical experience awaits us in the evening. The night lights up with mystery with the Night of Smuggling , an exclusive event that combines culture, nature, and fun. Thenight excursion will take us through the woods illuminated by stars and torches, treating us to an aperitif in nature. The program is shrouded in secrecy, ready to reveal the treasures along the way.
Fifth day
Excursion to Val Miela and Città di Roccia
After yesterday's mystery, today we walk in daylight through spectacular landscapes. Today it's time for theroute between Val Miela and Città di Roccia, one of the must-see destinations on the Asiago Plateau.
The route starts from the picturesque Val Miela and climbs towards the peaks of Monte Fior and Monte Castelgomberto. Here, with our guide, we can walk among the remnants of the Great War, exploring trenches that are still intact, until we reach the spectacular limestone formations of the "City of Rock." Today we had the opportunity to take a unique excursion to Asiago, with open views and a dive into Alpine geology.
Sixth day
Tour of the Gallio mountain huts
For thishike among the mountain pastures of Gallio, we will walk along the peaceful paths of the plateau, passing from one mountain pasture to another, just like the shepherds of old. We will pass by Malga Longara Davanti and its counterpart on the opposite side of Monte Longara, Malga Longara Di Dietro, where a snack with local products is a must.
We set off in the direction of Malga Fiara, passing first through Casera Fiaretta, and if we feel like it, we can visit the monument in honor of Pope John Paul II, erected on the occasion of his visit to the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni. We take a break halfway through the day with a traditional lunch at a mountain hut in Campomuletto to savor traditional Venetian cuisine. For those who still want to explore the area, right next to the refuge there is an unmissable trail that recounts the role of these mountains during the Great War with evocative artistic installations: the Path of Silence.
