YOUR RATING

last year's survey score

A long weekend in the Belluno and Trentino Dolomites, with views of the famous Pale di San Martino and Croda da Lago

A perfect hiking tour for those who love elevation gain and mountain hikes and want to explore the Dolomites: they are among the most famous mountains in the world, but together we’ll hike their most authentic trails—often far from the most crowded spots—to experience breathtaking views and a total immersion in nature. Immerse yourself in the Belluno and Trentino Dolomites, staying on the shores of the picturesque Lake Alleghe in a very comfortable hotel with a spa and half-board. It will be an unforgettable experience amid vast landscapes, exciting hikes, and new adventures—a journey that combines the beauty of these legendary mountains with the desire to explore them sustainably, far from overtourism.
We look forward to seeing you in Alleghe for a group vacation with our veteran guide Jonas! The trip is structured with a well-balanced pace, designed to let you enjoy every hike with energy and pleasure: the program is divided into two modules, Sunday–Thursday and Thursday–Sunday, which can be taken individually or combined into a single 8-day experience in the Dolomites. Those who choose the full week treat themselves not only to more trekking but also to a perfect balance between intense days, physical recovery, and time to truly savor the mountains—without rushing or hurried returns. Those participating in just one module will still enjoy a complete and intense experience: a few days, but authentic ones filled with iconic views.

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

Program

Thursday

Our journey begins in one of the most charming villages in the Dolomites. Welcome to Alleghe, the gateway to the Belluno Dolomites. Nestled between the majestic cliffs of Mount Civetta and the crystal-clear waters of its lake, this small, easily accessible mountain gem is the ideal starting point for a hiking vacation surrounded by nature—far from the most crowded trails but with all the comforts of a warm and authentic welcome. We’ll check into our hotel in the afternoon, which features comfortable rooms, an excellent restaurant , and a wellness area— perfect for relaxing our muscles after our hikes. In the evening, we’ll meet our guide, who will accompany us over the next few days as we explore the Dolomites. A long and exciting weekend awaits us!

Friday

After breakfast, we’ll drive to the Giau Pass for a stunning loop hike around Croda da Lago, in the heart of the Dolomites, which takes us through a series of very different landscapes. From the initial fir forest, we’ll cross the lunar landscapes of Val de Formin: here, our gaze rises toward the magnificent spires of the Croda and the scree slopes below, where we often see agile chamois scampering about. We pass through the meadows of Mondeval, a Mesolithic archaeological site, climb to Forcella Ambrizzola, and descend to Lake Fedèra and the Palmieri Mountain Hut, a stopon Alta Via No. 1, the most famous hiking trail in the Dolomites. From the refuge, we head back toward the initial fir forest and complete the loop trail. We return to the hotel for some relaxation and dinner together.

Route info: 13 km, elevation gain +/-1000 meters, duration 6-7 hours (excluding breaks)

Saturday

The second leg of our weekend in the Dolomites takes us to the heart of the Pale di San Martino, within the Paneveggio–Pale di San Martino Natural Park in the Eastern Alps—one of the most elegant and sun-drenched landscapes in the Dolomites. From the splendid Val Venegia—a glacially formed valley traversed by the Travignolo stream—we begin our hike through pastures, forests, and vistas that gradually open up onto the ridges of Focobón. The trail climbs gently, alternating between stretches of lush greenery and switchbacks through rocks and gravel, until we reach the Volpi al Mulaz Mountain Hut, perched in a panoramic and commanding position. For those who wish, there’s the option to climb to the nearby summit of Mulaz, recognizable by its distinctive bell. After a well-deserved lunch break, we’ll return to the cars along the same route, with one of the Dolomites’ most iconic landscapes etched in our memories. Relax at the hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate this fantastic Dolomite vacation together!

Route info: 13 km, elevation gain +/-900 meters, duration 7-8 hours (excluding breaks) - excluding optional climb to Cima Mulaz

Sunday

The last day of our hiking tour has arrived. We’ve walked through history and nature, crossed a wide variety of landscapes, and shared views, hard work, and smiles. Thank you for joining us on this journey! See you next time

Itinerary information
It is advisable to be trained for this type of route because you will cover about ten kilometers per day with elevation gains of up to 1000 meters. The excursions will mainly be above 1700 meters above sea level, therefore at high altitude and with some slightly exposed sections of the trail, protected by metal handrails. There are no via ferrata on this route.
