Umbria is a land to be explored at a leisurely pace, following the gentle contours of the hills, the silence of the olive groves, and the scent of the countryside. It is the perfect place for an eBike vacation, where movement becomes discovery and time regains its natural pace. A week-long group trip with an expert guide awaits you, based in Foligno in a 4-star hotel with an infinity pool, ideal for relaxing at the end of the day. On our pedal-assisted bikes, we will reach iconic villages such as Assisi and Spello, but also lesser-known corners where life still flows slowly. The most intense moment is along the Spoleto–Norcia route: a spectacular path carved out of the ancient railway, between tunnels dug into the rock and suspended viaducts. The journey continues through the vineyards of Montefalco and the countryside of Bevagna, with visits to wineries and oil mills, tastings of Sagrantino wine and DOP extra virgin olive oil. Combining culture, nature, and authentic flavors, this vacation is designed for those who love active but conscious tourism, where every day leaves room for wonder. Umbria is not just visited: it is experienced, one kilometer at a time.
WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
The eBike adventure through Umbria's most beautiful villages begins! In the afternoon, we arrive in Foligno, one of the liveliest cities in the region and the perfect starting point for exploring Umbria's Golden Triangle. After checking in at the hotel, we can relax by the pool and enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding hills. Before dinner, there will be a briefing with the local guide, followed by a group dinner, an opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers and savor the first Umbrian delicacies. A toast and we're ready to set off on our adventure!
Second day
The Sagrantino Wine Route
Today we cycle along the Sagrantino Wine Route, a route that crosses the heart of Umbria through vineyards, olive groves, and medieval villages. The first stop is Montefalco, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, known as the "Ringhiera dell'Umbria" (Umbria's balcony) for its panoramic views. We then continue towards Bevagna, a village with authentic charm, where time seems to have stood still. We end the day with an unmissable experience: a tasting of Umbrian wines and typical products in a winery between Montefalco and Bevagna, where the star of the show will be the famous Sagrantino DOCG. Return to the hotel for dinner and relaxation.
Third day
Tour of Spelloand Assisi
We depart from Foligno and head to Spello, a medieval gem nestled in the hills, also known forthe Infiorata, the floral event that colors the streets of the village in June. From here, we continue cycling at the foot of Mount Subasio until we reach Assisi, the city of St. Francis and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we can visit the symbolic sites: the Basilica of St. Francis, the Piazza del Comune, and the Eremo delle Carceri. After lunch on our own, we will resume our return journey, making another stop in Spello. In the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel for a relaxing evening and dinner together.
Fourth day
Today we have a free day to explore Umbria at our own pace and according to our own interests. We can spend the day discovering other villages like Trevi, with its spectacular views of the Umbrian Valley. For those who enjoy active tourism, one option is to hike a section of the Way of St. Francis. Outdoor and adventure enthusiasts, on the other hand, can reach the spectacular Marmore Falls in an hour by car. Those who wish to continue exploring Umbria by bike can rent an e-bike and venture out on the trails around Foligno. Dinner is on your own.
Fifth day
The Spoleto–Norcia
Today, one of Italy's most spectacular cycle routes awaits us. We take our eBikes to Foligno station and board the train, which takes us to Spoleto, the starting point of the legendary Spoleto–Norcia route, in about 20 minutes. We cycle along the former railway line, passing daring viaducts, rocky walls, and evocative tunnels carved into the mountainside, immersed in the silence of the Valnerina. After a relaxing break in Sant'Anatolia di Narco, we return to Spoleto to catch the train back to Foligno. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel, with memories of a truly memorable day.
Sixth day
Towards Rasiglia and its springs
We cycle towards Rasiglia, the charming "village of streams," where stone houses overlook crystal clear waterways that flow between mills and small canals. Here we can choose to treat ourselves to a tasting of typical Umbrian products, savoring the genuine flavors of the area. We set off again for Pale, a village surrounded by nature, where fascinating places await us, such as the hermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe, the mysterious Grotte dell'Abbadessa caves, and the spectacular Menotre waterfalls. In the afternoon, we return to Foligno, where we can enjoy the last few hours of relaxation before the final dinner ina cycling-friendly tavern...
