Experience a unique week of cycling through the medieval villages and most picturesque landscapes of the Marche region. Your local guide will take you on a tour of Montelupone and Cingoli—known as the “Balcony of the Marche” for its incredible views—as well as some of the Marche’s most beautiful villages, such as Treia and Montecassiano. Thanks to the e-bike, you’ll traverse the Marche hills, reaching places of rare beauty such as Elcito, the “Little Tibet of the Marche,” and Monte San Vicino, a symbol of the region.
In the second part of this active vacation, we’ll head toward Recanati and the Conero Riviera, enjoying easy bike rides to Sirolo and Numana, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Along the way, you’ll discover the beauty of the countryside nestled among vineyards and olive groves and the culture of the places associated with Leopardi. A unique experience for more sustainable vacations in the villages of the Marche region, far from the tourist trails—perfect for those seeking active and authentic tourism in Italy!

Program
First day
This cycling tour through the villages of the Marche region begins at a farmhouse with a pool in Cingoli, an enchanting place where you can relax and recharge your batteries. We’ll take an initial bike ride to get comfortable on our bikes and enjoy the views from the “Balcone delle Marche” (Balcony of the Marche). The e-bike will allow us to tackle distances and elevation gains with ease, combining the pleasures of an active vacation with the discovery of the Marche hills. For the first three nights, we’ll be based in Cingoli, while in the second half of the week we’ll stay at a farmhouse in the Recanati countryside, from where we’ll set off on excursions to Numana, Sirolo, and Montecassiano.

The Hills of Treia
You’ll ride along dirt roads and back roads that wind through hills blanketed in vineyards and olive groves until you reach the medieval village of Treia by bike, perched in a panoramic spot overlooking the Potenza Valley. We’ll climb up to the pass marking the border between three municipalities, where our efforts will be rewarded by a view that takes in both the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea in a single glance. This historic village, with Roman roots and a past linked to the Via Flaminia, offers an experience rich in emotion for lovers of cycling and authentic landscapes. Together with our guide, we’ll return to the agritourism in Cingoli.
Third day
Elcito, the castle village
Today we’ll tackle the most challenging stage without rushing, cycling toward the picturesque Elcito, the “Little Tibet” of the Marche region, on the edge of the Canfaito beech forest. The village, perched high and timeless, stands proudly in defense of the Valfucina Abbey below. We’ll cycle along the slopes of the majestic Monte San Vicino, a symbol of the Marche mountain range and a crossing point for pilgrims and partisans. On the way back, we’ll make a refreshing stop on the shores of the lake for a moment of relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at a farmhouse.
Fourth day
Toward the Conero Riviera
We leave our agriturismo in the Marche hinterland and head by e-bike toward Recanati, the Adriatic coast, and the Conero Riviera. The route offers breathtaking views of cultivated fields and gentle rolling hills, ideal for those seeking an active vacation surrounded by nature. The day concludes with our arrival atthe agriturismo in Recanati. Free time to spend a few hours at the nearby beaches. Dinner and overnight stay at the agriturismo.
Fifth day
From the hills to the blue waters of Conero
We’ll ride our e-bikes toward Monte Conero Regional Park, passing through vineyards and olive groves until we reach the beaches of Numana and Sirolo, perfect for a swim or a relaxing break. The return trip follows the coast to Porto Recanati, where we’ll take the bike and pedestrian path that leads us back to the agriturismo for dinner and overnight stay.
Sixth day
Through the villages and art cities of the Marche region
By bike, we explore Montelupone, voted Italy’s most beautiful village, and the art city of Potenza Picena, both steeped in medieval charm. We cycle along valley roads nestled in the Marche hills, passing through lush countryside and visiting historic sites such asthe Abbey of San Firmano, with over a thousand years of history. The route alternates between gentle ups and downs and peaceful views. Lunch on your own along the way, then back to the sea for one last dip. Return to the accommodation to relax, and in the evening, transfer to Recanati by car (either your own or provided by the organization) for dinner at a traditional local restaurant. Overnight stay at a farmhouse.
Seventh day
The final breakfast of a group cycling vacation in Italy always has a special feel to it. It’s a time for goodbyes, slow-burning laughter, and one last look at the places that have accompanied us on this eco-friendly adventure in the Marche region. Those returning by train can head back to the Porto Recanati station, while those who arrived by car will find it conveniently waiting in the parking lot of the Recanati agriturismo where they parked it on the first day, before the transfer to Cingoli. During the return trip, we’ll have time to share our vacation photos and start thinking about our next trip with Jonas!

Farmhouse in Cingoli and Recanati - MC. The first is a family-run farmhouse and farm, the second is a farmhouse/organic social cooperative.
It is possible to reach Recanati by public transport and then travel to Cingoli by group transfer (not included in the price).
For those arriving by car, we recommend parking in Recanati so that your car will be ready at the end of the tour, and then using the group transfer (not included in the price) to reach Cingoli.
