WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
Parks, creuze, and nights under the stars
Let's set off on our weekend trekking in Liguria! We meet at Nervi station and begin visit the Parks of Nervi: wonderful gardens overlooking the sea, once part of the noble villas of the Genoese aristocracy, now a public space. We continue along the Anita Garibaldi promenade, considered one of the most beautiful promenades in the world, where we can stop for lunch or an excellent homemade granita. Those who wish can take a dip in the emerald sea.
After lunch, we continue to Sant'Ilario mentioned in the famous song Bocca di Rosa by De André.
We then begin to climb along the creuze, ancient mule tracks that lead from the coast to the hills, gradually turning into paths. Once we have gained altitude, the view stretches from Capo Mele to the Cinque Terre and sometimes as far as Corsica. We continue walking among the Mediterranean flora and centuries-old holm oaks until we reach the plateau where we pitch our tents: it's time to roll up our sleeves and, together with our guides, build the oven for cooking. With a high-altitude chef, we learn how to prepare some of the traditional Genoese dishes. During dinner under the stars, we will tell each other ancient stories and interesting facts about local life in front of the fire, before falling asleep.
Second day
Hanging villages and blue sea
We wake up surrounded by the Genoese countryside: we enjoy a good coffee with a panoramic view!
It's time to continue our weekend in Liguria towards Pieve Ligure, a charming village of 2,000 inhabitants that is entirely pedestrianized. Suspended between the mountains and the sea, once we reach the church square with its fantastic balcony overlooking the Mediterranean, we can stop for a bite to eat at the village bar. After lunch, we continue along a picturesque panoramic path until we reach the village of Sori, Blue Flag 2024 and birthplace of the great-grandfather of the famous painter Picasso.
On its pleasant beach, we can relax and take a refreshing swim before leaving and returning home. See you on our next adventure!
We will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Genoa Nervi train station.
You can reach Genoa Nervi station, where there is a paid parking lot costing €12 per day, or free parking nearby.
