First day
Welcome to the heart of Val d'Orcia
The meeting point for the whole group is the hotel in San Quirico d'Orcia, in the heart of the picturesque Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the next few days, guided hiking excursions will depart from here guided trekking excursionswill depart from here, taking us on a journey of discovery through the most Instagrammable landscapes of the Val d'Orcia , such as the famous group of cypress trees. Getting here is easy: instead of driving, you can take the train to the nearby station of Buonconvento and continue by intercity bus. An excellent combination of sustainable mobility, nature, and tradition to fully experience the magic of Tuscany.
Second day
Among iconic cypress trees and Renaissance villages
Discover one of the most famous landscapes in Tuscany with this group trek in the heart Val d'Orciaor towards Pienza. We will walk along dirt roads and rolling hills, reaching the small church of Madonna di Vitaleta, one of the most photographed places in Tuscany
Our easy hike will finally reach Pienza, where we will have time to explore the village and, if we wish, enjoy a well-deserved food and wine break to taste the Pecorino di Pienza. Those who are tired can return by public transport, while others can enjoy a pleasant walk back in the company of the guide. At certain times of the year, after dinner, it is possible to take a night among some of the most iconic monuments of San Quirico d'Orcia , such as Horti Leonini and Palazzo Chigi Zondadari.
Third day
Thermal waters and timeless views
Get ready for atrekking excursion like no other in Bagno Vignoni and Vignoni Alto, two jewels of the Val d'Orcia! We will walk easily along dirt roads and country paths, immersing ourselves in the typical Tuscan landscape. First stop: Bagno Vignoni, famous for its medieval thermal bath in the center of the square and for the picturesque free thermal baths of the mills, where hot water gushes forth, creating a magical atmosphere. On the way back, we will pass through Vignoni Alto, from where we can admire a breathtaking view of the valley. We will return to San Quirico d'Orcia in the afternoon, passing through woods, olive groves, and vineyards.
The nearest train station is Buonconvento, from where you can continue by suburban bus. Alternatively, you can travel to Siena train station and then take a TIEMME Siena - Montepulciano / Montalcino bus.
