Veleziana 2026, the Venice regatta

YOUR RATING

last year's survey score

The only event that allows you to sail into St. Mark's Basin: an experience worth trying even if you are a beginner.

Next October 18, 2026 , the 19th edition of the Veleziana, a unique regatta that offers the thrill of arriving under full sail in front of St. Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace, in the heart of Venice's historic center. The Veleziana is the most eagerly awaited autumn regatta after the Barcolana in Trieste, an event that celebrates maritime tradition in the unique setting of the Venice Lagoon. This event is also open to everyone: both beginners and more experienced crews can take part.
Taking part means experiencing Venice from its beating heart, the sea. You can sail among sailing ships and modern boats, admiring the extraordinary view of the historic city reflected on the water: an authentic experience for a
trip to Venice in the fall.
On Saturday, you will have the opportunity to go out to sea for a day of sailing in the Venice Lagoon, while in the evening you will have plenty of time to
visit the historic center of Venice on your own or go on a bacari tour, like a true Venetian!
If you like
sailing holidays , end October on a high note with the Barcolana + Veleziana combination ;-)

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

Program

Friday

La Veleziana is the only event in the world that allows you to sail into St. Mark's Basin. You can participate whether you are a beginner who has never been on a boat before or a sailing enthusiast who wants to have fun during the regatta.
We look forward to seeing you in
Venice for theembarkation in the late afternoon. After the briefing, we are free to explore the streets of the historic center and take a tour of the bacari of Venice. Saturday will be a day dedicated to visiting the Venice Lagoon and familiarizing ourselves with the boat and its spaces, while on Sunday we will participate in the actual regatta.

Saturday

The course of the day depends on where the boat will be moored. If possible, we will go out for a day of sailing between the Venice lagoon and the sea, to get to grips with the maneuvers and roles on board. If, on the other hand, the mooring does not allow the boat to be moved, we recommend going ashore to visit the surrounding area and discover new parts of Venice, such as the Sestrier Castello and the surroundings of theArsenale di Venezia. In the evening, we can take part in exclusive events dedicated to those registered for the regatta or stop at a tavern for a traditional Venetian dinner. In either case, everyone to their bunks: tomorrow we will have an unforgettable experience!

Sunday

We leave early to reach the regatta course, in front of the Lido di Venezia, and wait for the start of the Veleziana 2025at 10:00 a.m. We will watch the professional boats compete for the top spot in the rankings, and we, at a more leisurely but equally enjoyable pace, will be able to sail and enjoy the spectacular arrival with sails unfurled just a few dozen meters from St. Mark's Square! This is an opportunity that is only possible during the Veleziana. The end time of the regatta depends on weather conditions and the presence or absence of wind, but it usually takes place in the afternoon. Don't rush to get home and buy a train ticket that leaves as late as possible ;-) Disembarkation in Venice.

Tour guide
The skipper is the captain of the boat and an expert on the itinerary. For safety reasons, his decisions regarding navigation are final. Together with the guests, he organizes and collaborates in cooking and cleaning the common areas.
Itinerary information
The sailing schedule may be subject to change in case of adverse weather conditions and depending on the point of embarkation.
Notes
To participate in the event, you must have an FIV card, which can also be purchased on site. The Ordinary F.I.V. card or 2025 Renewal (valid for regattas) requires the presentation of a non-competitive medical certificate.
Important
Everyone can participate in the Veleziana, even beginners. You will take part in a real regatta: you may therefore be accommodated on smaller, sportier boats than those we usually use, with more basic accommodation (sleeping in a cabin or dinette). Be prepared to be a little more adaptable than on traditional sailing tours.
Train

Boarding at the Arsenale, Isola di San Giorgio, Sant'Elena, Certosa, Cavallino Treporti. The exact boarding point address will be provided approximately one week before departure.
