WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
Welcome to Lesina
Lesina, the village nestled on the lake of the same name, awaits us to kick off a holiday over the June 2nd long weekend dedicated to discovering an unusual and authentic Puglia. The evocative sunset over the lake, trekking in the unspoiled nature of Bosco Isola, and the genuine flavors of the local cuisine are just some of the activities that characterize this holiday in Puglia. Each experience will be led by a local guide who will talk about their territory with love, allowing us to enjoy authentic experiences that will leave a lasting impression. First group dinner: typical cuisine, local products, and a toast to the start of the adventure.
Second day
Trekking in Bosco Isola, workshop and tasting
We will spend the morning on a simple trek along the paths of Bosco Isola, the chain of natural dunes that separates the Lesina lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. With the help of a nature guide, we will collect berries, pine cones, and other natural elements that we will use for the creative craft workshop with a local artisan in the afternoon. We will stop for a tasting of typical products at a local farm where we will discover the flavors of the area, and then we will devote ourselves to creating small handicrafts with our own hands. In the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel and have dinner on our own (New Year's Eve dinner included).
Third day
Lake Lesina and San Severo with tasting
The morning after breakfast, we will take anexcursion on Lake Lesina by boat, one of the experiences to be had for those who want to experience the lake in an authentic way. The organized vacation in Puglia continues with urban trek led by a historical tour guide in the historic center of San Severo, a village famous for housing the oldest Baroque monuments in Puglia and for being the birthplace of cartoonist Andrea Pazienza. Don't miss the visit to the underground cellars, a cool labyrinth of bottles with accompanying wine tasting and sparkling wines. We return to Lesina for dinner at a local restaurant.
Fourth day
The Path of Peace and tasting
We reach San Paolo di Civitate for a visit to the Archaeological Museum, the gateway to the ancient history of Capitanata. We will then reach the start of the Path of Peace: 15 km (which can be reduced to 10) of sheep tracks, endless countryside, and slow panoramas in the heart of the Gargano, perfect for those looking for trekking in Puglia and authentic walks in summer 2026. Packed lunch, perhaps with fragrant focaccia from a local bakery. Return to Lesina for the last group dinner, with typical flavors, travel stories, and that wonderful energy that only shared vacations can create.
Fifth day
Unfortunately, we have come to the end of this experiential vacation in Puglia. From the small village of Lesina, we visited the lagoons of Puglia and the Gargano in a sustainable way through tastings of local products and guided treks, discovering a different and authentic Puglia, far from the typical chaos of summer. After breakfast, it's time to return home, taking with us a wealth of emotions and memories of new friends made during this organized group vacation.
We recommend arriving by car because (short) trips will be made using participants' cars. If there are not enough cars, a van will be rented.
If you are traveling by public transport: take the train to San Severo (FG), then the bus to Lesina (check for Sunday service). It is also possible to take the train to Termoli (CB), but you will then need to continue by taxi. For local travel, participants' cars will be used or a van will be rented.
