WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
Arrival at the hotel in Latina in the early afternoon and check in. We will have time to relax and settle in, enjoying the tranquility of the hotel. Before dinner, there will be a meeting with the group and the guide for a briefing on the week of trekking in Lazio, an opportunity to get to know each other and discover the program with all the experiences that await us. The day will end with a dinner based on the authentic flavors of theAgro Pontino, perfect for immediately immersing ourselves in the atmosphere of this journey through nature, history, and adventure. After dinner, we will chat together and then everyone will retire for the night!
Second day
Kayaking at the Circeo Promontory and Sabaudia
After breakfast, an adventure between sea and nature awaits us in the Circeo National Park. Paddling kayaks in the calm waters of the wetlands, we will reach Torre Paola. From here, the Tyrrhenian Sea will open up before us. The journey continues with a trek along the beach until we reach one of the foundation cities of the Agro Pontino: Sabaudia, an icon of rationalist architecture. We will stroll among its perfect geometries, exploring symbolic buildings such as the Casa del Combattente, the Palazzo Comunale, and the Palazzo delle Poste, which evoke atmospheres suspended between the pictorial visions of De Chirico and the poems of Pasolini. Return to the hotel for some relaxation and dinner.
Third day
Bike tour between the Circe Forest and the Coastal Lakes
This morning we will hop on our bikes for a trip through the heart of the Circeo National Park. Our itinerary will take us to explore the Circe Forest, a true green lung, and the coastal lakes of Caprolace and Paola. We will leave Sabaudia behind, cycling along the Agro Pontino countryside, following the historic "miglia," the straight roads that mark the distance in Roman miles between Rome and the Agro Pontino. We will also pass through the rationalist architecture of Sabaudia, a unique city of its kind. After this day full of excitement and unforgettable views, we will return to the hotel for some relaxation.
Fourth day
Arx Circeii: on the trail of the acropolis
After the wonderful excursions of the past few days, this morning we take it easy: we can decide to relax at the hotel, cooling off in its splendid outdoor pool or book a treatment in the hotel's exclusive spa. For those who prefer to explore a little, we highly recommend visiting one of the most romantic places in Italy, the Garden of Ninfa, or discover Latina, arranging your own transportation (not included in the package). We will recharge our batteries for the afternoon, when we will discover one of the most evocative areas of the Circeo National Park: theancient fortress of Arx Circeii. We will climb the paths that lead to theancient Acropolis to admire the remains of the mighty Cyclopean walls. From up here, the view is unparalleled: the sun setting over the sea tinges the Tyrrhenian coast with red and gold. We can organize a packed dinner to enjoy the sunset or have dinner on our own.
Fifth day
Cavata River by canoe and Temple of Jupiter
Today we will embark on a fascinating journey along the Cavata River, one of the hidden gems of theAgro Pontino. We are along the legendary Regina Viarum, the Appian Way, a crossroads for travelers, merchants, and Roman legionaries. From the banks of this small oasis that is now our hotel, we embark on a canoe trip up the river. The water flows from the springs of the Lepini Mountains, creating a unique ecosystem. In the afternoon, we will visit Monte Sant'Angelo, known as Mount Jupiter at 227 meters. Here is the Temple of Jupiter Anxur , which we will discover on a guided tour. Once finished, we will have the opportunity to visit Terracina , known for being the home of the sorceress Circe in the Odyssey. We will then return to the hotel for our last dinner together.
Sixth day
After days immersed in nature, surrounded by crystal clear waters, ancient ruins, and breathtaking landscapes, it's time to say goodbye. After breakfast, for those who still have some time before departure, we recommend a stroll through the streets of Latina, perhaps stopping at one of the historic cafés for a final breakfast with a view of the rationalist architecture. Or, a last stop in nature: a relaxing visit to Lake Fogliano, where flora and fauna blend in perfect balance between land and water. We say goodbye with our hearts full of emotions and our minds rich with memories of this journey through history, unspoiled landscapes, and authentic local experiences. Until the next adventure!
