Program
First day
The nearest airport to reach thehotel in Santa Maria Navarrese is Cagliari. From here, you can travel independently or book a shared transfer and travel with the other participants. In the late afternoon, we will meet with the guide to discuss the week of trekking in Sardinia that awaits us and have dinner together. Over the next few days, we will walk along many scenic trails overlooking the Gulf of Orosei: the medium-level hikes, suitable for those accustomed to walking in the mountains, will always lead us to the Sardinian sea. It will be a week of great emotions and immersion in the Sardinia's unspoiled nature.
Second day
In the heart of the Wild Blue
We begin our trekking tour with an expert guide along the famous Selvaggio Blu, one of Sardinia's most spectacular trails. The departure point is directly from the hotel, climbing up to the panoramic saddle of Monte Oro, which offers breathtaking views of the wild coast ofOgliastra. This first section allows us to immerse ourselves in the unique landscapes between Baunei and Santa Maria Navarrese, characterized by limestone cliffs and spectacular gorges, and lush vegetation.
The walk, ideal for familiarizing yourself with the Sardinian territory, also offers glimpses of the Mediterranean scrub and the crystal-clear sea, making every step an unforgettable experience.
Third day
Rocky Cliffs Overlooking the Sea in Ogliastra
Short drive to Pedra Longa, another 128 meters, and from here we climb toward the Giradili ledge , a panoramic balcony overlooking the east coast of Sardinia. The trail passes through the traditional sheepfolds Us Piggius at an elevation of 650 meters and the typical Sardinian Mediterranean scrub, with a constant view of the sea. Amid towering cliffs and centuries-old junipers, we reach the only freshwater spring in the area and take a well-deserved dip at Forrola Beach. On this route, we will enjoy an authentic experience of traditional Sardinian culture until we reach theBaunei Plateau or Golgo Plateau. Return to the hotel, where we’ll relax before enjoying a traditional Sardinian dinner.
Fourth day
Supramonte: wild spirit and ancient roots
Today'sToday's guided excursion takes us to visit Supramonte an unspoiled environment where man has always lived in contact with a harsh and wild nature. We will venture into the Sardinia's unspoiled nature with a challenging trek that will give us intense emotions. We will reach panoramic views on foot, ranging from the peaks of Sardinia to the sea, immersed in the scents of the Mediterranean scrub. Before returning to the hotel, we will stop to visit an important Sardinian archaeological site to learn a little more about Nuragic culture. The hotel is very close to the beach: shall we go for a dip before dinner?
Fifth day
Rocky outcrops and turquoise waters
The fourth stage of the Selvaggio Blu group tour takes us through rocky terrain, furrowed fields, and ancient sheepfolds until we reach theArco di Ispuligi, a large natural window from which to admire the entire Gulf of Orosei. Thanks to a series of passages equipped by shepherds with juniper logs and by following the old mule tracks, we reach the spectacular beach of Cala Mariolu, one of the most beautiful beaches in Ogliastra. There could be no better place to recharge your batteries than this stunning beach, where we’ll stop for lunch. A dip in its crystal-clear waters will be irresistible! The return trip will be a real experience: by boat to Santa Maria Navarrese (not included in the price), cruising along one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world, or alternatively, if the whole group decides, on foot along the seaside hiking trails.
Sixth day
Cala Goloritzé: the perfect ending
We wrap up the week of hiking in Sardinia with a hike to the summit of Punta Salinas, a stunning natural balcony overlooking Sardinia’s eastern coast. We are at most beautiful viewpoint in the Selvaggio Blu. From here, we make a quick descent and soon reach the small but charming beach of Cala Goloritzè, a Natural Monument of the Sardinia region. The landscape is spectacular: a distinctive natural arch to the south and the famous spire, standing a full 142 meters tall, a destination for climbers from all over the world. We stop to visit Cala Goloritzè and enjoy a well-deserved swim before climbing back up the Bacu Goloritzè valley and returning to the plateau. If it is not possible to reach Cala Goloritzè or access/reservation is not permitted, an alternative route will be proposed by the guide.
