Walking in the snow in Val di Fassa: snowshoeing weekend in the Dolomites

First day

Second day

Once we have left behind the hustle and bustle of the Pian Pecei ski slopes, we enter the authentic Val di Fassa, ideal for immersing ourselves in the quiet of the winter woods and enjoying the muffled sounds of the snow. For lunch, how about a tasty plate of canederli or the classic Kaiserschmarren? On the way back, we walk along part of the Path of Legends , enchanted by the beauty of the snow-covered peaks that stand out against the blue sky and the woods beyond. Dinner on your own.

Third day

Today's snowshoe excursion takes us to discover a branch of the Val di Fassa that has been beautifully preserved from ski resorts, the Val Duron. After an initial section with challenging gradients, the valley becomes a pleasant plateau surrounded by the Dolomite walls, dominated by the Catinaccio group.
We walk along the ancient paths that connected the Val d'Isarco with the Veneto valleys, enjoying incredible views of this corner of the Trentino Dolomites. For lunch, a peaceful alpine hut where we can taste their typical products and recharge our batteries.

Fourth day

Let's end our winter weekend in Val di Fassa with a little-known route: the Sella waterfalls. We walk on fresh snow, entering the woods and enjoying ourselves as we skirt the riverbed.  Just beyond Pian de Schiavaneis, we enter the canyon that will take us to the Pian de Schiavaneis Waterfall, just below the Sella! We return with snowshoes along another trail until we reach our cars. The excursion ends in the afternoon. It's time to say goodbye: we are at the end of this 4-day guided tour in Val di Fassa.
