WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Program
First day
We arrive in the afternoon at Cittadella, an extraordinary fortified city founded in 1220. It is the only one in Europe with a medieval walkway that is completely accessible. After checking into the hotel, we can take a stroll through the town center and climb 15 meters up to admire the elliptical shape of the walls and the outline of the Prealps from above. We will discover that the historic center is home to palaces, churches, and small cafés where we can begin to savor theVenetian atmosphere. It is the first taste of a weekend that combines architectural harmony and a slow pace.
Second day
Let's set off on a loop tour through the most fascinating walled towns in the region. We’ll soak up history as we cycle through Cittadella, Bassano, and Marostica. We’ll then head first to Bassano del Grappa, elegant and lively, passing through historic squares until we reach the famous Ponte degli Alpini (Ponte Vecchio), the city’s symbol. Here, it’s almost a ritual to stop at the Nardini Distillery for the traditional “mezo e mezo.” We continue on to Marostica, famous for Piazza degli Scacchi and the historical reenactment of the Living Chess Game. We return to Cittadella in the late afternoon, just in time for a nice aperitif.
