WHERE ARE WE GOING?

Program

First day

We arrive in the afternoon at Cittadella, an extraordinary fortified town founded in 1220. It is the only one in Europe with a medieval watchtower walkway that is fully accessible. After checking into the hotel, we can then take a stroll on our own through the city center and climb 15 meters high to admire the elliptical shape of the walls and the silhouette of the Prealps from above. We’ll discover that the historic center is home to palaces, churches, and small cafés where we can begin to savor theVenetian atmosphere. It’s the first taste of a weekend that combines architectural harmony with a leisurely pace.

Second day

Meet up with the tour guide, pick up the bikes, and off we go on a loop tour through the in the region. We soak up history as we cycle through Cittadella, Bassano, and Marostica. We then head first to Bassano del Grappa, an elegant and lively town, passing through historic squares until we reach the famous Ponte degli Alpini (Ponte Vecchio), the city’s symbol. Here, it’s almost a ritual to stop at the Nardini Distillery for the traditional “mezo e mezo.” We continue on toward Marostica, famous for the Piazza degli Scacchi and the historical reenactment of the Living Chess Game. We return to Cittadella in the late afternoon, just in time for a nice aperitif.

Route information: approximately 60 km with a 200-meter elevation gain

Third day

Today's ride is scenic and gentle, through the Asolo Hills. We arrive in Asolo, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, refined and intimate. Weather permitting, we stop in Castelfranco Veneto, a walled city that was the birthplace of Giorgione.

Today's route runs along the Brenta Nature Park, a ring of great naturalistic value that is entirely cycleable.
